1. Who is responsible
Our privacy contact is our Office Manager, reachable at (778) 877-6434. Ask them anything about this policy, or about your information.
2. What we collect and why

Please do not upload photos showing people, licence plates you do not own, or documents with other people's details. We use photos to review your vehicle and reply to you.
3. Your choice (consent)
- We use the information in section 2 for the purposes shown, because you volunteered it to get a quote or reply.
- Anything beyond that needs your separate "yes". The quote form has one optional box, unticked: "Text me about my quote, and ask me for a review afterwards." Helper line: "Optional: you can get a quote without ticking this. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts. Texts come from AKJ AUTO RECYCLING LTD., 10791 120 St (Scott Road), Surrey, BC V3V 4G5, (778) 877-6434.". Saying no never affects your quote.
- We do not send your name, phone, email or other contact details to Google, Meta or TikTok.
- Cookies and similar storage are a separate choice in the cookie banner (Accept or Reject).
- You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP, using the unsubscribe link, or contacting the privacy contact. We act within 10 business days.
4. Messages from us
Replies to your quote request are not marketing. If you agree, we may also send follow-up or review-request messages by text, WhatsApp or email. Each includes our name, our contact details and a free way to stop. We keep a record of when and how you agreed.
5. Cookies and advertising tools
We only load analytics and advertising tools (Google, Meta, TikTok) after you accept them in our cookie banner. See the Cookie notice. These tools can see how our pages are used through cookies, but we do not send them your name, phone, email, quote details or photos.
6. Who sees your information
- AKJ staff who handle enquiries.
- Service providers that run our website, email, forms, text messaging and storage. They may only use your information for us.
- WhatsApp (owned by Meta). If you message us on WhatsApp, or tap a WhatsApp button or ad, your messages, photos and phone number pass through WhatsApp and Meta under their own terms.
- Analytics and advertising services (Google, Meta, TikTok) through cookies, only if you accepted them. They do not receive your contact details from us.
- Police or regulators when the law requires, for example required purchase reports.
Some providers store data outside Canada (for example in the United States). Your information is then subject to the laws of that place.
7. How long we keep it

We then delete or anonymise it unless the law requires us to keep it.
8. Your rights
You may ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw consent. Contact the privacy contact. We reply within 30 days. If we cannot help, you may complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (oipc.bc.ca) or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca).
9. Security and incidents
We use reasonable safeguards: restricted access and secure connections. If an incident puts your information at real risk of significant harm, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
10. Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not use tracking to target them.

We will post updates here and change the date above.
