Damaged and non-running vehicles
Yes. We buy accident-damaged vehicles and vehicles that don't run, and an accident-damaged vehicle can still have a loan on it. If your vehicle has an open ICBC claim, talk to ICBC before you arrange a sale. Electric and hybrid vehicles are welcome too, in any condition.
What shapes an offer
Any buyer looking at a used vehicle weighs much the same details:
- Year, make and model. Some models hold their value better than others.
- Mileage. More kilometres usually means more wear on the engine, transmission and suspension.
- Condition. How it runs, plus the state of the body, glass, tires and interior.
- Damage. What is damaged, and whether it affects how the vehicle drives.
- Service history. Records show how the vehicle has been looked after.
- Demand. What buyers are looking for at the time.
When you get in touch, we ask for the year, kilometres, where the vehicle is, any missing parts, any mechanical problems and any money still owing on it. Once we confirm a price in writing, by text or WhatsApp, we honour it, unless the vehicle turns out to have missing parts.

Agree the handover
If you accept, we arrange with you how and when the vehicle changes hands. Collection is free, and same-day pickup is often available. We remove the plates and give you a bill of sale.

Collection arrangements
If you would like the vehicle collected, say so in the form. It helps to tell us:
- where the vehicle is parked
- whether it can be driven or rolled
- anything that makes access difficult, such as an underground parkade, a locked gate or a narrow driveway
There is no charge for collection.
Paperwork when you sell a used vehicle in BC
ICBC's published steps for a private sale of a used vehicle:
- Transfer/Tax Form (APV9T). ICBC's form for transferring ownership. ICBC says all four pages need original signatures from the seller and the buyer.
- Plates. Remove your plates. They stay ICBC property, and you can move them to a replacement vehicle for up to 10 days only if ICBC's conditions are met.
- Insurance. Remember to cancel your insurance or transfer it to another vehicle.

Selling to AKJ: bring the vehicle's registration and photo ID so we can confirm you own it. We remove the plates and give them to you, so you can cancel your insurance, and you receive a bill of sale.
